(January 31, 2020)—Makran Pictures entered the world of IP-based media with an adaptation of the novel "Salammbo" by Gustave Flaubert.

An international bestseller on publication in 1862, "Salammbo" is set during the Mercenary War of 240 BC between war-weary Carthage and its unpaid mercenary army. The novel remains controversial for its shocking content and style.
